Hello! My name is Ameen DaCosta, and I am a second-year student at the University of California, Berkeley, in the dual-degree program working towards an M.S. in Civil Engineering, concentrating in Transportation Engineering, and an M.C.P. in City and Regional Planning, concentrating in Transportation Policy and Planning. I recently graduated from Columbia University, with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a minor in Sustainable Engineering. I am passionate about public transportation and redesigning urban areas and streetscapes in order to allow them to better serve the community.
In addition to my studies, I am the co-president of the Transportation Graduate Students Organizing Committee (TRANSOC). While at Columbia, I co-captained my intramural soccer team, was a co-founder of Minecraft Club, and was on the board of Columbia University’s Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). I was also recently part of a group of UC Berkeley graduate students who broke the BART Speedrun World Record. In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing video games, watching and playing soccer, and spending time with friends and family!
Please feel free to contact me through any of the links below or on my contact page if you have any questions or want to talk, and I respond as soon as I can!
